The U.S. military expects to have 20,000 uniformed troops inside the United States by 2011 trained to help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe, according to Pentagon officials. The long-planned shift in the Defense Department's role in homeland security was recently backed with funding and troop commitments after years of prodding by Congress and outside experts, defense analysts said. There are critics of the change, in the military and among civil liberties groups and libertarians who express concern that the new homeland emphasis threatens to strain the military and possibly undermine the Posse Comitatus Act, a 130-year-old federal law restricting the military's role in domestic law enforcement.  Once the military is in place, Congress will be superfluous  and elections a joke.   This is an interesting article in the  New Enlightenment Journal. Their theory is that most of the last few wars have been fought over oil. It is a facinating history of oil, its relevance to war and it is an eye opener.  This may be conspiracy thinking but it is well written and absorbing. You will never look at a war whether it's Afganistan or Bosnia without wondering how it relates to oil.  Bet you didn't  know we sold all the used weapons  conficated in Japan after world war II  to Ho Chi Minh for  one dollar and other considerations. Secretary of Defense Reveals Earthquake and Volcano Weapons
This one might seem beyond belief, but we have it from none other than a sitting Secretary of Defense. In April 1997, then-Defense Secretary William Cohen was speaking  at a terrorism conference at the University of Georgia.   Cohen gives a strange answer, using the occasion to mention the exotic weapons being  developed by terrorists (as well as--one would assume--governments). Could we be talking scalar weapons ?

 This site is Tom Bearden's website where,  for the serious scientist,  you could find hours of facinating reading in a wide range of fields.  As is the instance with many guru's, you will find  Bearden,  to be multi disciplinary and mentally wide ranging. This type of thinking  is not for the typical atomic scientist. I admire the man for only a few of the things I knew he accomplised, but this website shows so much more.  I guarantee you will be enthralled and astonished at this one man's accomlishments.  Could Tom be from outer space and living in Huntsville Alabama?
